Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 can cinnamon rolls, with icing (8-count) Choose a brand you love; I've had success with Pillsbury and Annie’s.
  • 1 can apple pie filling (21 ounces) Can use canned or homemade filling.
  • 2 cups fresh apples, chopped into small pieces Optional, but recommended for added texture and flavor.
  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream Serving suggestion; optional.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Open the can of cinnamon rolls and set aside the icing packets. Cut each roll into four pieces and place them into a large mixing bowl.
  3. Open the can of apple pie filling and add it directly to the bowl of cinnamon rolls. Gently stir to combine until the rolls are well-coated.
  4. Pour the mixture into a 10-inch cast-iron skillet or any oven-safe dish. Spread it into an even layer.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the tops are golden brown and the rolls have risen beautifully. If they brown too quickly, cover loosely with aluminum foil.
  6. Drizzle with reserved icing and serve warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For a crispier top, briefly broil for 1-2 minutes at the end, but watch closely to prevent burning. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
