Ingredients

Base Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 cups 1 1/4 cups bourbon Look for a smooth bourbon for the best taste; I recommend Buffalo Trace or Woodford Reserve.
  • 3/4 cup 3/4 cup apple cider Fresh, unfiltered apple cider adds a depth of flavor.
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice Freshly squeezed provides the best acidity.
  • 1/3 cup 1/3 cup pure maple syrup Go for 100% pure maple syrup, preferably grade A.
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Ground cinnamon adds warmth; fresh cinnamon sticks can also be used.
  • 2/3 cup 2/3 cup whole milk Use high-quality whole milk for creaminess.
  • to taste Crushed ice For serving.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the bourbon, apple cider, lemon juice, maple syrup, and cinnamon. Whisk until completely integrated.
  2. In another bowl, pour in the whole milk. Slowly pour the bourbon-apple mixture into the milk, stirring gently.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes, or overnight if you’re prepping ahead.
  4. After the chilling period, set a coffee filter over a clean bowl or pitcher and slowly pour your milk punch through it to strain out any solids.
  5. Fill a lowball glass with crushed ice. Pour your strained mixture over the ice and serve immediately.

Notes

If you notice any curdling while mixing, stir gently. Always taste before serving to adjust sweetness if needed. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
