For the Honey Garlic Glaze
  • 3 tablespoons honey Opt for raw, organic honey for maximum nutrients.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic offers the best flavor.
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce Consider gluten-free soy sauce if needed.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Freshly squeezed is best for brightness.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For cooking the salmon.
For Finishing Touches
  • 2 tablespoons butter Melted into the glaze for richness.
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper For seasoning.
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes Adjust for desired spiciness.
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley For garnish.
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds For garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
Cooking
  1. In a heavy-bottomed cast-iron skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes without moving them until nicely seared.
  3. Carefully flip the fillets with a spatula and cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes on the second side.
  4. Lower the heat, add the butter to the skillet, and let it melt. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the salmon and let it bubble gently.
  5. Use a spoon to generously baste the glaze over the salmon for 1 to 2 minutes until the sauce thickens and turns glossy.
  6. Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley and sesame seeds, and serve immediately with extra glaze drizzled on top.

Notes

To reheat, place the salmon in an oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes or use an air fryer at around 300°F for 5-7 minutes.
