Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 block (8 ounces) cream cheese, room temperature Make sure it's softened for easy mixing.
  • 1 container (8 ounces) whipped topping, thawed Brand Recommendations: Cool Whip is my go-to for its fluffiness.
  • 3 tablespoons orange gelatin, like Jell-O You can experiment with sugar-free options as well!
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Opt for pure vanilla extract when possible.
  • 1 can (15 ounces) mandarin oranges, drained, divided Don’t skip this for real fruity goodness.
  • Shortbread cookies, graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or pretzels, for dipping Feel free to mix and match based on what you love.

Method

Preparation
  1. Let the cream cheese sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to soften.
Blend the Base
  1. In a medium mixing bowl, using a hand mixer, beat the cream cheese on medium speed for about 2 minutes until it’s smooth and creamy.
  2. Add the whipped topping, orange gelatin, and vanilla extract. Continue to mix until everything is well combined—about 2-3 minutes.
Incorporate the Oranges
  1. Dice most of the mandarin oranges, reserving about 1/4 cup whole oranges for topping.
  2. Gently fold the diced oranges into the cream cheese mixture, taking care not to overmix.
Chill for Flavors
  1. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl, cover it, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors mingle.
Final Touches
  1. Before serving, top the dip with reserved whole mandarin oranges.
  2. Serve with a selection of cookies, graham crackers, or pretzels for dipping.

Notes

Serve chilled for best flavor and texture. Make ahead for convenience; just wait to add garnishes until serving for freshness.
