Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Spray a 9-inch square baking dish or a deep-dish pie pan with cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, stir together the halved strawberries, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, vanilla extract, almond extract, and cornstarch. Let this sit for 10 minutes.
- Pour your strawberry mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- In another bowl, stir together flour, oats, brown sugar, 1/3 cup granulated sugar, salt, cinnamon, and melted butter until crumbly.
- Drop the oat mixture by spoonfuls over the strawberries.
Baking
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden-brown edges are bubbling.
- For the last 10 minutes of baking, sprinkle sliced almonds on top.
Serving
- Let it cool slightly and serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
To avoid a soggy crisp, make sure to drain any excess moisture from your strawberries if using frozen ones. Always eat it warm!
