Ingredients

For the Chocolate Mix
  • 4 ounces white chocolate, chilled, roughly chopped Look for high-quality white chocolate, such as Ghirardelli or Callebaut.
  • 3 cups powdered milk Vital for creating that creamy texture; I recommend Whole Foods bulk powdered milk.
  • 1 and 1/3 cups confectioners sugar A blend of regular and powdered sugars gives the perfect level of sweetness.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Feel free to adjust based on your taste preference.
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt This balances the sweetness and enhances the overall flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by chopping your chilled white chocolate into small chunks.
  2. To the bowl of a food processor, add the chopped chocolate. Process for about 15-20 seconds until you have small chocolate chunks.
  3. Add the milk powder, confectioners sugar, granulated sugar, and salt to the processor. Continue to process everything together for another 30 seconds, or until well combined and the mixture is powdery.
  4. Transfer the mix to an airtight container and store it at room temperature for up to a year.
  5. When you’re ready to enjoy, add about 1/4 cup of the white hot chocolate mix to a large mug. Top with 8 ounces of hot milk or water, stirring until completely dissolved.
  6. Sit back, relax, and savor the taste of your homemade White Hot Chocolate Mix.

Notes

Make-ahead instructions: This mix is fantastic for preparing ahead of time! Double or triple the batch for upcoming gatherings. Enhance flavor with a dash of vanilla or almond extract, or try toppings like whipped cream, caramel, or chocolate shavings for an indulgent treat.
